TIPS FOR STACKING SPORTS NUTRITION PRODUCTS
A stack is any combination of 2 or more supplements, and your options aren’t limited to powders. Washing down a tablet or capsule with a ready to drink that you mixed a teaspoon of creatine powder into is a stack encompassing 3 different products. Here are some tips for making the most of your customized creations.
Unflavored is Not Flavorless
An important consideration for any stack is flavor compatibility. Unflavored powders are ideally mixed into flavored protein shakes and other beverages to mask the taste. Fruit flavored powders can complement vanilla and chocolate based powders, but mix together a little at a time to maintain a good balance of flavor.
Taste isn‘t the only reason to mix unflavored creatine powder into a flavored protein shake or fruit juice. The liquid density helps keep the powder suspended in solution longer.
More Isn’t Necessarily Better
Stacking a teaspoon of unflavored BCAAs into a flavored protein shake is very common, but keep in mind GOLD STANDARD 100% WHEY™ already contains 5.5 grams of naturally occurring BCAAs per serving. Tracking amounts of individual ingredients is especially important when more than one supplement contains the same ingredient. More isn’t always better. In some cases, too much of one ingredient is a waste of money, but too much of an ingredient like caffeine can become a cause for concern.
